This is my motto for 4 more days. 3 half days with the kids and 1 work day. YAY! :)

memorial day weekend wrap-up.
We had a great low-key Memorial Day weekend! It started off Friday night, with a home cooked meal. I made the Pioneer Woman's Sour Cream and Noodle Bake, which I blogged about here. It was so yummy and easy! I would recommend this and will definitely be making it again. :) After dinner, we rode to Clemson to 3 Spoons. My brother and teaching friend, Heather, have said good things about it, so we tried it out ourselves! We'll be back for sure!
Saturday morning, Kevin and I got up and headed to just a couple yard sales in the area. No good finds... but I'm planning on going again in the next few weeks with my mom, so maybe we'll have better luck! Afterwards we went strawberry picking! The weather was nice and thankfully not too hot.
He's trying to contain his excitement :)
Saturday evening, we went over to Kevin's sister and brother-in-law's apartment for dinner and a movie. We watched The Last Song which is such a sweet movie! I love anything Nicolas Sparks related :)
Yesterday, we went to church and had a restful afternoon! Kevin gave Dixie a bath, which was very MUCH needed! Today's plans include shopping for Kevin's b-day presents, cleaning, and dinner with my family tonight!
Happy Memorial Day! I'm forever thankful for those who have served our country, along with those who are currently serving so that we may have freedom :)

farewell.
Although I don't agree with everything Oprah says... I have found some of her past interviews very interesting and entertaining. It will be strange not seeing her on at 4 o'clock in the afternoons when I get home from school.
Farewell, Oprah!

summer to-dos.
Summer is now just 2 weeks away, and I have some projects in mind. :)
#1. My mom brought me this chest of drawers from my grandmother's house that is such a great (and free for me) piece of furniture! I'm planning on painting it black to match our bedroom and add a few decorative pieces on the top. Can't wait to see how it turns out!!
#2. I love old windows and since we've needed something to go on one of the guest bedroom walls for awhile now, I'm planning on getting a window, painting it white, and hanging a wreath over it. Here's my inspiration.... (although I'm not planning on using a coffee filter wreath)
#3. I would also LOVE to go thrifting and find a sturdy dresser to "re-do" to put in our office. One drawer will hold our "office supplies" since we got rid of our giant desk, and the other drawers can hold Kevin's t-shirts. (Seriously, the man has TONS!) I'm also hoping that a TV can sit on top of the dresser, as well.
#4. My grandfather gave me this old soda shop chair that is so cute! I'm hoping to be able to cut some of the seat out, to sit a flowerpot down in it. We shall see!
Along with these projects, I will be busy getting my classroom ready in our NEW school, trying out new recipes, exercising, and of course, enjoying time off! :) Do you have any summer projects in mind??

field trip/field day.
WHEW! A field trip is enough for one week... throw in field day, and I'm done! The beginning of the week was dreary and cold, but the sun broke through for our outdoor activities the past two days!
We went to the strawberry farm yesterday and had a great time! The kids played games, painted/planted flower pots, and picked strawberries!
Today was field day, which is always such a fun day for the kids! They were so excited playing the different games, getting wet, and jumping on inflatables. 8 days left... thank the Lord! The end of school is always such acrazy good time! :)
....sorry for the lack of pictures. They are all on my school computer.

monday, again.
We're down to only one more Monday of this school year left! Yeah! I'm linking up with Carissa and Meg today!

My weekend consisted mostly of these... blah!
Thursday, we're going to the strawberry farm for our final field trip of the year... and Friday is field day. Should be an exciting week!
Have you seen those "Family Rules" boards? There are so many different kinds to make! I saw this one at Tatertots and Jello and loved it! It's my next project :)
Speaking of crafts, look at these cute craft rooms!
Happy Monday!

waiting.
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalm 27:14
The Lord is teaching me about waiting upon Him. Kevin had an interview yesterday, but will not hear anything for about 4-6 weeks. When he first told me, I was discouraged because I wanted immediate answers. However, the Lord has continually reminded me that His timing is perfect, and all I must do is trust in Him. So, I am at peace... the Lord is in control and has our future in His Holy hands.

tail wagging tuesday.
Today's Tail Wagging Tuesday topic is your pet's favorite treat(s)!
Well, Dixie likes pretty much any normal dog treat we give her- bones, beggin' strips, etc.
In order for her to go into her crate we have to throw a treat in for her to go after. For awhile, she would go right in with a dog treat. However, then she became stubborn and we had to get creative :) So, now, some of Dixie's favorite treats are as follows...
Yes. Whatever works! Happy Tuesday!
